Here's a quick guide to getting started with helps residents and building teams stay connected and get things. It's as easy to use as your favorite messaging/chat apps πŸ™‚.

1. Getting around

Here are the key places inside;

On a mobile device the Navigation Panel is closed by default. You can open it by clicking the icon on the top left corner;

2. Sending messages is a chat or message-based service.  This means you can send messages to people, channels or services just like other messaging apps.

Here's how to send messages in;

First, select who you want to send your message to in the Navigation Panel


Then simply type your message and click the send icon. That's it!


3. Starting a new chat

You can start a new chat with someone you know by searching for them in the search panel. Click their user name to start a new chat.

4. Posting a photo or document

You can also post photos and documents in chats or channels.

Click the attachment icon next to the message panel.


Then select your file and click "OK".  Your photo will instantly post to the chat or channel.


5. Joining public groups

Public groups are places to talk about specific topics with other people. Your chats will be viewable by anyone who joins or previews the channel.

When you join you may be joined to some default public channels, but there may be other optional channels for you to join if you want to.

Select the channel you are interested in (you can preview it before joining)

In the channel you want to join, click the "JOIN" button at the foot of the page. You are now a member of the channel.

To leave or hide a channel, just click the channel settings icon next to the channel (you can rejoin anytime)

6. Mentioning someone in a channel

Mentioning a person by user name in a chat or channel is a great way to get their attention. If they're online they'll get an alert that they have been mentioned. If they're offline they will get an email notification.

In the message panel, type β€œ@” to pull up channel members by user name

Type your message and click send. Users mentioned will be displayed as follows...

You can also mention everyone in a chat or channel. This option will alert every member in the channel (so use this sparingly!)

7. Talking to concierge

Concierge is your own, always-on personal building assistant.  It helps you access useful information, access services, report maintenance and other issues, and lots more depending on your building.

Concierge responds to key words. Say 'hello', 'hi' or β€˜ding’ anytime to get its attention and see what it can do.

And say β€˜ding’ to see what your concierge can do (you know, like the bell at a front desk πŸ™‚).

You can click a command or type it anytime and concierge will respond.

8. Saving, quoting, replying, copying to a message

You can save (or star), quote, copy or reply to a message by clicking the message options icon.

Select the message you want to reply, quote, copy, star (or save) and click the message options icon.

To view saved / starred messages, click the channel navigation panel on the right hand side (on mobile click the message header).

You can also use emoji's to react to a message (because emoji's are awesome)

9. Search for something in a channel or chat

If you are looking for something specific in a channel or chat, you can search by keyword using channel search. 

In a channel or chat, click the channel navigation panel and click the search icon


Then type a search keyword to see all matching posts and messages in the channel or chat...

10. Autotranslation can translate specific messages, or can auto-translate all incoming messages for a specific channel or chat. This allows residents to have real time chats with the building.admin and each other in their preferred language. You can change your master language selection in My Account/Preferences.

To translate a non-English language inbound message, simply mouse over the message and click the message options panel:

Select Toggle original/translated (this will translate it to your default language)


The message will be translated (translated messages are denoted by the translate symbol above each message):


You can set all future incoming messages to be auto-translated into your preferred language by selecting Auto-Translate from the channel options. Set Automatic Translation to On to automatically translate all future incoming messages in a channel.

11. How to favorite a person or channel

Favoriting makes it easier to get to your favorite people and channels (including concierge). 

In a chat channel, click the favorite icon (a star)...

Your favorites are now displayed at the top of your Navigation panel

12. Changing email or

To change your preferred email or (as well as other preferences), just click the main settings icon in your navigation panel...

Select My Account...

And select 'Profile'...

You can also change your avatar, preferred language, notification settings and more.
